Vineyards
Dalardi Vineyard is planted at 1600’ above the Soquel hills to clones Swan and 667. The two acre vineyard is ringed by redwood trees and madrones, and is in full view of the Pacific ocean, only 6 miles away to the west. Farmed organically, this vineyard makes up 55% of the 2022 Integrato. The remainder of this selection is comprised of 3 vineyards in the Pleasant Valley section of Corralitos, 4 miles from the Monterey Bay on Purisima and Colluvial soils that run alongside the San Andreas Fault: Hand in Hand Vineyard, one of our two Estate plantings, is on a sandy bench at the upper end of the valley, and is planted to Calera and Martini clones, which provide a darker intensity and structure from the small Calera berries. Lester Family Vineyard, which is one of the jewels of the Santa Cruz Mountainas AVA, provides Mt Eden clone to the mix, along with a savory minerality and red fruit. Saveria Vineyard adds a crisp, red-fruited structural component and zippy acid.
Winemaker Notes
This vintage of our appellation cuvée is a bit earthier than some of our other iterations. I change the blend every year— this is indeed a barrel selection— in order to showcase what’s happening in our stable of vineyards with that vintage. I came into Pinot Noir as a fan of earthy, rich Pinots that work well with savory foods, and this vintage represents that love of mine. Food friendly in the extreme, I love this wine with BBQ salmon, lamb and duck. She loves wild mushrooms as well.
